What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a site stores on your device. "Local storage" and "session storage" are related browser technologies that hold data on your device until cleared. We use both, sparingly, and only for the purposes below.
What we use, and why
Strictly necessary
These are required for the product to work and cannot be switched off. They do not track you across other sites.
| Purpose | Technology | Set by | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Authentication session - keeps you signed in | Supabase auth token (local storage) | First party | Until sign-out / token expiry |
| Security - inactivity lock, CSRF protection | Session storage | First party | Cleared on tab close |
Preferences
These remember choices you make so the product behaves the way you left it.
| Purpose | Technology | Set by | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Interface theme (currently dark only; no light theme is offered) | Local storage | First party | Until cleared |
| Selected model, onboarding progress, UI layout | Local storage | First party | Until cleared |
Analytics (only with your OK)
Our own website asks you to choose between Essential only and Accept analytics. Nothing in this section runs until you choose Accept analytics, and you can change your mind at any time (see "Managing cookies" below).
| Purpose | Technology | Set by | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
Your choice about analytics (ik_consent) |
Cookie | First party | 180 days |
A random visitor id (ik_vid), so the site can tell a returning visitor from a new one |
Cookie | First party | 180 days, deleted at once if you switch to Essential only |
With your OK, the homepage records which sections you reach, how far down the page you scroll, which buttons you click, where the visit came from (the referring site or a campaign tag), whether the visit is on a phone, tablet or desktop, and whether you start or finish the waitlist form. These records are held in our own database, under the random id only. They carry no name, no email address and no IP address, and are deleted 180 days after your last visit. We use them to see where the page loses people, to test two versions of a heading against each other, and to show a returning visitor a version of the page that fits what they did last time (for example, "you're on the list" instead of the sign-up form). Visitors who choose Essential only are counted without any id, so those counts cannot be linked to a person or to any earlier visit.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as Essential only, whatever is clicked.
What we do not use
We do not run third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and no analytics company receives data about your visit. We do not sell or share cookie data with anyone.
Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings.
Blocking strictly-necessary items will sign you out and break core features;
clearing preferences will reset choices like your selected model and layout.
To change your analytics choice, clear the ik_consent cookie for this site
and the site asks again on your next visit; choosing Essential only also
deletes the ik_vid cookie, and the records under that id are no longer
linked to you. There is no advertising profile to opt out of.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
